The most beautiful Christmas tree decorations are those made by yourself. Such creativity will help you bring any fantasy to life and make your New Year's decor as original, unusual and very attractive as possible.

In modern stores on New Year's Eve, a person can find a huge assortment of Christmas tree toys made from various materials: glass, plastic, wood, textiles, paper. But, just more than half a century ago, find beautiful decoration it was quite difficult for the Christmas tree, and people I had to make them myself.

It is worth noting that manual work is very often was distinguished by her skill and was equated to works of art. Many needlewomen still prefer to bring something original to the decor of the room and the Christmas tree, made from the heart and with your own hands.

By following modern master classes, you can learn how to create toys of incredible beauty.

For example, cotton wool decorations - budget handicrafts. For work you will need:

  • Roll of pharmaceutical cotton wool
  • Paste
  • Newspaper
  • Wire
  • Paints (acrylic)
  • Salt dough

Vatu is necessary pre-paint in different colors. This is done using textile paints, which can be purchased in the store. household chemicals. The painting process is very simple: put dye in a saucepan with water, add cotton wool, and bring to a boil. The cotton wool is infused for several minutes, after which it is wrung out and dried.

Cooking the paste is also very simple. It is easier to work with than regular PVA glue, as it is more transparent and its texture is more watery. To cook the paste, you need boil a glass of water and dissolve two full tablespoons of starch in it with a slide. The cooled solution will become very sticky.

Salt dough will be necessary in order to create realistic faces and muzzles for toys, since they imitate figures of people and animals. It's easy to knead this dough: mix two parts flour with one part salt and add water by eye so that the texture somewhat reminds you of plasticine.

The dough is formed into the required figurine with notches and baked in the oven for half an hour at a temperature 110-120 degrees. After this, the dough must be painted with acrylic paints, all the details must be drawn: eyes, lips, cheeks and covered with colorless nail polish.

From wire it is necessary make the base. All other elements will be attached to this base. The base should follow the preferred figure, for example, a person. For volume the base is wrapped in layers of newspaper soaked in paste. The ends of the wire (handles and legs) should be wrapped first with cotton wool, wetting it with paste. After this the newspaper also covered with a cotton layer.

The top of the wire should attach a face molded from salt dough (make a hole in it in advance). All parts should be done very carefully, hands should be washed often, as paint will remain on them and spoil light shades. You can form braids, hats and other little things using thin wooden sticks, which should always help you in your work.

On the eve of the New Year, almost every children's group tries to organize their own competition New Year's crafts.

Throughout December, children, parents, and teachers come up with ideas for future creations and then bring them to life. Sometimes the created products truly surprise and amaze the imagination.

The organizers of the competition for the best New Year's craft can be the management of a kindergarten or school, the cultural department or the city administration.

They issue regulations and appoint a jury. Works, as a rule, are accepted from December 1 to 20 in order to have time for the exhibition on the 22-25th.

The main tasks are defined as follows:

  • development of creative abilities, unlocking the potential of participants;
  • strengthening family ties between parents and children;
  • aesthetic education of children, teaching them that they need to appreciate the work of others;
  • decorating the interior and New Year's tree with toys and compositions, creating a festive mood.

Nominations can be very different: from Christmas tree decorations to table and wall compositions.

The originality and technique of execution, aesthetics and variety of materials used are highly appreciated.

Unusual Christmas toys

This is a very popular type of craft for the New Year. A variety of materials, techniques and decor can turn Christmas tree decorations into real works of art that are not embarrassing to present to the public and the jury.

Toys made from soft felt look elegant and elegant, and they are not very difficult to make. Pieces in the shape of a circle, heart, house, boot, etc. are cut out of thin material (1-2 mm). 2 parts for each toy.

To complicate the contour, you can cut them with curly scissors. Then the crafts are decorated with thermal appliqués, rhinestones, sequins, and beads. It is important that the decorations are at the same distance from the edges. Before sewing, you still need to glue the loop. For this you can use, for example, PVA, universal Moment or any textile glue.

Next, start stitching. You can take regular threads, but it is better to use floss to match the felt. The edge is treated with an overcast buttonhole stitch, preferably of uniform length. When there is already a small hole left, filler is put in (holofiber, padding polyester, foam rubber, padding polyester) and the product is finally sewn up.

Pasta decorations. Stores sell flour products in a wide variety of shapes: bows, spirals, snails, feathers. A little imagination, glue, time, and you will get a very unusual creation. The most simple shapes- snowflakes made from wheels and tubes.

With practice, you can move on to more complex ideas. For example, glue geometric patterns and figures, various angels and even a whole garland. The finished product can be painted acrylic paint or gouache. Gold and silver colors look very elegant on the Christmas tree. For durability, the toys are coated with clear varnish.

Balls made of thread or wire. Inflate regular ones balloons small size. Wrap them with thick threads, carefully coating them with PVA glue, or thin wire with beads or seed beads strung on it. Deflate the ball and remove it. The result is openwork and light balls.

In Soviet childhood, many people made garlands from thin strips of paper, gluing them together. There are many other ways. For example, cut multi-colored circles and rings, all kinds of snowflakes and figures from thick paper, arrange them in a row on parchment and simply sew them on sewing machine. Then remove the parchment and the garland is ready. If you layer the pieces on top of each other, the decoration will be voluminous.

Volumetric compositions

Candlestick made from an inverted glass. The bowl can be painted, decorated with ribbons, sparkles, and a candle can be placed at the base of the stem.

It will look even more interesting if you make a base from cardboard, plastic or an old disk under the bowl and place fir branches, small balls, and artificial snow inside the figurine.

Using the same principle, you can make a composition from an empty jar. A Christmas tree, snowman or Santa Claus figures are glued to the lid, foam is poured into the jar itself, twisted and turned over. It turns out great holiday decoration. A large clear plastic cup will also work.

Chandelier made of snowflakes. First you need to make a base from thick wire, knitting needles or tubes. Then cut a lot of snowflakes of different sizes and tie them to the frame with threads. By experimenting with the shape of the base and the length of the threads, you can get designs that are completely various forms with snowflakes swaying on them.

Modeling from salt dough. There is truly an inexhaustible field for imagination here. The dough itself is very easy to knead: mix fine salt and flour 1:1, you can add a little vegetable oil or cream, mix and add water until the mass becomes elastic.

To create a contour, molds, knives, sticks, buttons and other available materials are used. Dry in a slightly preheated oven, making sure that the products do not burn. Then they are painted with watercolors or gouache.

You can sculpt both individual figures and whole ones. story compositions. Snowmen, birds and Christmas trees placed in a frame look very unusual.

Christmas trees made of paper. There are many manufacturing options. One of them is to draw the outline of a tree on paper, it is better to make it openwork, cut it out of a sheet folded in four so that the Christmas trees turn out the same.

Bend each one in half and then glue or sew them together so that it turns out volumetric tree. Another way is to use a figured hole punch to cut hearts or leaves out of colored paper, glue them to the base of a plastic wine glass, and decorate them with ribbons, cotton balls and beads.
