Leather is an amazing material! Lively at hand, easy to paint, cut, glue. It is pleasant and interesting to work with her. It is expensive on sale, but every home has leather. Old jackets, bags, boots... Good housewife will always find a use for it, because you can make so much out of it different beauty! See what you can create from pieces of leather using the example of a small evening jewelry set.

For this you will need Xia:

Pieces of leather
PVA glue
Hot glue gun
Scissors
Acrylic metallic paint
Tweezers (for small parts)

Plastic bottle of silicone construction adhesive

Getting started.
Pick up pieces of leather and make flower patterns on paper, as shown in the photo.

All of them have five leaves, only the last one has three leaves. The fourth leaf can be five-leaf or three-leaf, as you like. Three-leaved can be used as a bud or small flower.
Place the patterns on the skin from the suede side, trace them with a pen, this will show how many flowers a piece of leather will be enough for.

It is convenient to cut flowers by cutting the leather into pieces according to the design, or you can use a pattern. You just need to secure the pattern with a pin so that it does not move.

For this kit you need to cut:
Sheet 2 – 1 pc.
Sheet 3 – 2 pcs.
Sheet 4 (five-leaf) – 5 pcs.
Sheet 4 (three-leaf) – 4 pcs.
Leaf – 1 pc.
Bud – 2 pcs.

Place the frying pan over medium heat. It's better to use our old frying pans. Place the finished flower details on it.

They will warm up and begin to rise and become rounded; press the center of the flower with a knife. When they reduce in size, they should be immediately removed from the pan.

After frying, the leaf will also curl up a little; now you can apply veins to it with the hot blunt end of a knife. Your parts are ready, distribute them to make assembly easier.

Painting.
Paint better acrylic paint metallic not with a brush, but with a sponge, lightly touching the skin. There are three paint colors in the photo: gold, bronze, turquoise. First, apply gold on the back and front sides, then bronze in places, and turquoise on the leaf. The paint dries quickly, the metallic gives freshness and shine. What gives the product an elegant evening look.

Bracelet base.
While the parts are drying, prepare the base for the bracelet. A thick plastic bottle of silicate construction adhesive works well for the base. It does not bend and sits tightly on the hand. Use a knife to cut the bottle to the width you need, divide the resulting ring as shown in the photo.

Now you need to cover the base with leather. The width of the strip of leather to fit the base of the bracelet must be calculated so that a piece of the strip can cover the base from the outside and inside. Thickly coat the suede side with PVA glue and carefully tighten the base of the bracelet. To make the leather lay down easily, you can wipe the front side with a wet napkin. Let the glue dry, then paint it the same way as the flowers.

Collection of flowers.
You need to collect the flowers one by one (2,3,4, stamens), glue the centers together with hot glue. Roll the stamens (in the photo these are short strips of 3-5 cm with cuts) into a tight circle, glue the ends, fluff them up and glue them into the middle of the last upper flower.

And so on all flowers. Glue buds and a small flower onto the branches. Glue the leaf first, then the twigs and flagellum, then the flowers. Your bracelet is ready.
Clips. They are collected from flower leaves 3,4 and stamens. Glue the nails for the clips on the wrong side with hot glue.
Ring. Prepare a strip the size of your finger, 0.5-1 cm wide, and glue it into a circle. Glue the leaves and the finished assembled flower onto the glued place, like on clips.
This is what happened.

Leather jewelry looks unusual, original, and solid. Making them is not that difficult.

It does not require special tools and you do not need to be a great master. It's very simple.

Step 1. Prepare paper flower patterns (photo 3).

Flowers of five leaves and one small flower of three. It can be used as an open bud or for the last layer of a flower. They vary in size and are marked in order of assembly.
Step 2. Lay out the patterns on the leather, transfer the pattern of flowers, as many as necessary (photo 4).

1 flower - 1 piece
2 flowers - 2 pcs.
3 flowers – 2 pcs.
4 five-leaved flower – 2 pcs.
4 trifoliate flower – 1 pc.
Leather with a transferred pattern can be conveniently cut out by dividing it into pieces. Some are cut out together with the pattern, in which case it must be secured to the skin with a pin so that it does not move (photo 5).

Cut short strips for the flower stamens, 1 cm wide and 4 cm long, fold them in half and cut like noodles on the folded side, not reaching the edge of the strips (photo 6).

Cut buds from the remaining round or oval shape. Cut out a flower leaf of any shape.
For the branches, cut one strip 1 cm wide, 10 cm long, spread PVA glue, fold it in half, let it dry and stick well. After drying, carefully cut the width you need without damaging the folded edge of the strip. You will get a strong narrow braid that will go on the branches and on the flirty curl of the necklace.
Step 3. Heat a frying pan on the stove (medium heat) and place the cut out flowers, buds and leaves on it. They begin to rise and become round before our eyes. At this moment, press them down in the center with a knife or other object. They quickly begin to shrink and shrink. The buds become like droplets. Remove them from the pan quickly. The leaf also shrinks and becomes like a living leaf (photo 7).

Now heat the blunt end of the knife and make veins on the leaf. (photo 8) - this is how the parts look after heat treatment.

Step 4. Painting the parts. (photo 9)

It is better to paint with acrylic paint (metallic), they give the product an elegant, evening view. Each woman chooses her favorite colors to match her clothes. This option offers: gold, bronze, turquoise. You need to apply the paint to the skin with a sponge, lightly touching the skin, from the inside, then from the front side. First apply gold color, then bronze in places, and also turquoise on the sheet.
Step 5. We begin to glue the flower. To the center of the first flower ( face leather) squeeze out hot glue and quickly glue flower 2, then 3, in a checkerboard pattern, glue the fourth with the suede facing side. Glue the stamens into the hole that has formed (roll a strip cut into a noodle into a tight circle, seal the edge). They look like small berries. Glue buds and a small flower (three-leaved) onto the prepared branches. Cut out a piece of leather three times smaller than the flower and glue on it first a leaf, then branches with buds and a flower, a curl, and the flower itself (photo 10).

Turn the product over (photo 12), glue a loop for the cord with hot glue (the wider the better), draw the finished cord, if you don’t have one, then cut a long leather braid yourself. This is even better, it’s easy to control the desired length, and it’s easy to tie at the back.

Soft decorations

Necklaces from soft materials- these are knitted, glued and sewn products from fabrics, threads, and other pliable raw materials.

For a crocheted necklace you will need:

yarn 100 g;
hook;
beads;
plastic rings – 8 pcs.;
scissors;
thread with a needle.

The Kanzashi Flower Necklace requires the following materials:

satin ribbon, 5 cm wide;
lighter;
thread and needle;

For the flower, cut out 12 squares from the ribbon, measuring 5x5 cm. The edges of the parts need to be carefully melted with a lighter. We bend six squares diagonally three times, six other squares should be bent in the same way, but bend the left half to the right. Using thread and a needle you need to sew the details into flowers. To form the petals, you can follow the following schemes:

The middle of the flower is decorated with a bead.

Using pins and pliers, you can create a chain of the required length by putting beads on the pins, bending them into loops and attaching the next pin with the same bend. We cut off the unnecessary tail of the pin or break it off with several bends.

Once the desired length is achieved, attach the chain with a clasp.

We sew flowers in the middle of the necklace, securing them together a little with glue. The necklace is ready.

A foamiran necklace can be made using the following tools:

foamiran in three shades of the same color;
scissors;
glue;
ribbon or lace;
thick felt;
cotton swabs.

First, we cut out a pattern from felt using the template.

To make flowers, you need to cut light and medium shades into squares, 1.5x2 cm in size - for petals, and 2x4 cm squares from dark shades - for leaves. We form small squares into petals, large ones into leaves.

Having processed the details with a warm iron, kneading them with your fingers, while giving the petals a shape like rose flowers, we proceed to forming the composition of the necklace. Having decided how many flowers there will be on the necklace, we move on to making them. Petals different shades mix at your discretion, either making the color of the rose two-tone, or one tone. It is better to gradually apply the petals onto a cotton swab. At the end of work on the flower, the excess edge of the stick is removed with scissors. When twisting the flower, we fasten the petals with glue.

The composition is laid out and glued onto a felt piece, decorated with beads.

In order to make fabric beads, you need the following tools:

satin fabric (clippings from other types of fabric that happened to be around the house);
beads or cotton balls;
threads with a needle;
scissors;
glue;
single knitting needle.

For the bead, we make squares from satin fabric, the dimensions of which are suitable for the diameter of the bead.

The best thing is to make one square template, which will be used to produce patterns for subsequent parts.

We wrap the beads in a roll of fabric coated with glue, sew them along the edges, and trim off the excess.

To make the beads neater, each edge of the roll is cut into a wide fringe, each tendril of which is glued to one of the bases of the bead, after which the protruding sections are tucked into the hole.

From a sufficient number of beads we make a necklace of the required length, which can be completely decorated and sewn from beads, or can be attached to ribbons or other strings. The decoration will look something like this:

A necklace with a decorative part made of threads will require:

beads;
yarn;
needle;
ribbon;
chain;
scissors.

You need to make a strand from the threads, which you will later braid into a braid. The finished braid is cut off from excess threads on the sides and tied at the edges with knots so that it does not unravel. This part should be sewn to the chain. The lower edge of the braid is decorated with beads. The ribbon is attached to the edges of the chain and acts as ties. The necklace is ready.

To make a necklace from ribbons, you will need:

beads;
satin ribbon according to the diameter of the beads;
fishing line;
scissors;
needle.

Stepping back 20 cm from one edge of the tape, you need to thread the needle, forming the first loop. After this, you need to string the bead, and then again thread the needle through the ribbon, without forming a loop, but again stringing the bead from the other side. Continue this way until you reach the desired length of the necklace. At the end of the work, leave the ribbon to tie, and the necklace is ready.

A lace necklace requires:

a piece of lace;
scissors;
threads with a needle;
chain;
clasp;
a can of spray paint (if the decoration is not planned in white).

We cut out large and other shaped elements from lace, from which we lay out and sew the main part of the necklace. After this, we open the part with paint. You need to attach a chain with a clasp to the dried part.

From other bases

Other materials may also be suitable for creating a necklace. For leather necklaces you will need:

pieces of leather;
scissors;
glue;
colored acrylic in metallic shades;
pan;
tweezers;
a knife with a dull end;
chain or leather harness.

We cut out the parts from leather according to the template provided.

A total of five flower patterns are needed. For them you need to cut a strip for the stamens measuring 1x4 cm. The strip should be decorated with fringe along one of the edges. In addition, we make one pattern in the form of a leaf, several small oval patterns for unopened buds, and a 1x10 cm strip for a branch. The branch part should be folded in half and glued in such a position to form a braid. The remaining parts should be placed in a frying pan heated over medium heat, inside out. We remove the oval parts almost immediately so that they do not tighten too much, the rest as they reach the required convexity.

Having warmed up the knife, use its blunt end to make embossments on the details of the sheet.

All details are painted.

After drying, the composition is assembled into a single whole using glue.

The final stage is shrinking the part onto the harness.

Another version of the necklace can be made from stones. For this you need:

smooth plastic;
stones, rhinestones;
chain with clasp;
scissors;
glue;
needle and thread;
paper, pencil;
scotch;
toothpick.

You need to draw a template on paper, cut it out and glue it to the plastic with tape. You need to cut out a piece from plastic on which the stones are glued. The dried part is sewn to the chain.

Simple necklace crafts

If the decoration is made for frivolous purposes or with children, it can be made from very simple materials.

To make beads from pasta, you can dye them different colors before stringing them on a thread.

For a wire necklace, thin copper wire is perfect; it can be easily formed into any shape, as well as string beads or seed beads on it.

Beads for a paper necklace are made by twisting and gluing triangular blanks on thin skewers, after which, before stringing them on thread, fishing line or wire, they can be painted with varnish or acrylic paints.

For different necklaces you can use parts made from plastic bottles. To do this, you should cut out the part, decorate its edges with a stationery knife and lightly melt it with a lighter.

I have some pebbles lying around. The most common pellets, of which there are plenty if you look hard enough.

This is a sketch. Then I made three blanks from cardboard, placed pieces of leather on glue and cut them like this (see below).

Here are three things (I took loose cardboard from a child’s coloring book. And next to it is a piece of my husband’s jacket made of faux suede (this is for the inside).

In addition to the main parts, I made leather strips. It's not difficult. Strips of leather (5-7 mm) are cut off, glued in half, trimmed and tied (or not tied) in knots. I wrote hieroglyphs for the stones using a stained glass outline. On a triangular one the meaning is eternity (infinity), on an elongated one - Woman.

Start of assembly. I glue pebbles and decorate them with glued cord and pyrite beads.

Here you can see that in addition to beads and lace, I draw all sorts of curls from the black outline. By the way, the third blank (as per the sketch) did not fit into the necklace. It will then become a component of the bracelet.

I collected the necklace. Everything is visible here. The inside of the necklace was covered with artificial suede, with the nap facing outwards.

I used a dry brush technique with silver enamel on curls and bulges (including WOMAN and ETERNITY). Finally, I coated everything with varnish (including the stones).

Leather jewelry is now very popular and designers like to work with such material. Girls often make such jewelry with their own hands. Working with leather is really nice: easy to cut and model.

Material combination options

Leather jewelry can be complemented with other natural materials. This way you will create a coherent and interesting composition. Basic examples of a successful combination:

Leather and fur products. You have often noticed such a juxtaposition of materials in clothing, and now this is also possible in jewelry. This combination is suitable for making elastic bands and headbands, extravagant earrings and necklaces.

Leather and fabric products. Leather laces and fabric strips are used to create interesting friendship bracelets, neck and hair jewelry.

It is extremely easy to distinguish high-quality material from other waste. Basic rules:

Read the inscription on the label. You shouldn’t believe what’s written for sure, but it’s the first step.
A suspiciously low price indicates that the quality of the leather is much lower than stated.
The skin always has a noticeable weight. And the substitute can be lighter than fabric.
The smell of leather is significantly different from a fake. The latter reeks of chemicals and vinyl.
High-quality material always has a rough surface on both sides. Leatherette, as a rule, has a sliding surface and a fabric lining.
The plasticity of real leather differs from non-natural material. In the first case, the color at the bend will change, but no trace will remain. In the case of a substitute, everything is completely opposite.
Genuine Leather absorbs water; dermantine lacks this ability. Run a wet finger over the material and evaluate the result.
If possible, test the material with fire. Genuine leather will not catch fire from a match, but fake leather will flare up and begin to emit an extremely unpleasant odor.

DIY making

Curls

Making curls from leather is used to create earrings, pendants, decor for bracelets, headbands and hair ties. Such products can be used as a separate accessory or decorative addition. Required materials:

pieces of soft leather up to 1 mm thick;
PVA construction adhesive Moment;
plexiglass or plastic as a working surface.

Manufacturing:

Long shreds need to be twisted into bundles. Apply glue in a neat strip or dots close to the cut and distribute it using an awl. We fold the strip by about 0.5 cm and press it with a soft cloth for better gluing and removal of excess glue. We push through the entire length and cut with sharp scissors. The tourniquet is ready!
We perform the first stage as many times as necessary to obtain the required number of strands.
We wrap a tourniquet (or several) with a small piece of evidence and drip glue into the middle. Now you need to press the workpiece against the plexiglass and wait until the glue sets.
Further twisting is carried out on the surface. To do this, make a strip of glue around the workpiece. At the moment of the turn, grab the glue with a cut. This way the material will be fixed to each other, and there will be no contamination from the glue on the outside.
Wrapping can be done with one tourniquet or several (up to 3). If the streak is over, then it needs to be increased. To do this, lubricate the side of the harness with glue and hold for a while.
Leave the product overnight so that the skin sticks well. The next day, we separate the workpiece from the work surface using a ruler or something similar.
Turn the product over with the wrong side and drip glue into the central part. Distribute it over the entire surface and leave for another day.
Decorate the back like this: glue a solid piece of leather of the desired size to the back.

Further manipulations depend on the type of decoration. If you have created a pendant, now glue a loop between the curl and the back. If it is a brooch, secure it with a pin.
