We need following materials:

Stationery knife, scissors;

Ruler, pencil;

- decorative elements: eyes (diameter 2 cm, leaves, mushrooms, etc.)

Working process:

1. I draw a contour and needles of a hedgehog. We need 2 such halves. Therefore, first we work with one, and simply circle the second.

2. Cut out.

3. I cut through the needles with a clerical knife. Be sure to put something on it so as not to ruin the work surface. I had nothing but a cutting board at hand).

4. Doing this twice, we get 2 halves. I bend back the needles.

5.I glue these two parts in two places: at the nose and tail. How much to glue depends on the size of the child's head.

6. I cut the nose from the usual black cardboard(I have a size of 10 ruble coins)... I glue the nose, eyes on both sides. We glue decorative elements on needles. It can be any cardboard, wooden, fabric leaves / mushrooms / apples.

The longer the pile, the easier it will be to form a kind of needles out of it. Also, to decorate the hat, you will need a piece of black fabric (for the nose) and eyes from soft toys or multi-colored felt for making them yourself. Large round buttons are also suitable for this part. In general, use for creativity those materials that you have at your fingertips, or that will not be difficult to buy.

To decorate the back, it would be very nice to use felt decorations depicting the standard "catch" of a hedgehog: apples, mushrooms, autumn leaves... You can also use real leaves attached to the vest with hot glue for decoration. Another option is to cut out all the above elements from colored paper.

Important! Please note that the details are given without additional distance for allowances, so add 1 cm in the area of the side seams, and for the elastic around the head circumference - 3 cm from the bottom.

Then you need to cut out 6 details for the hat itself (made of faux fur), 2 details for the muzzle (velor), 4 for the ears (velor) and 1 for the nose.

After that, we will assemble the hat by stitching six wedges from the sides of the parts, bend the bottom by 3 cm for the elastic band (the length of which corresponds to the circumference of the child's head), insert it and sew it.

Then we sew the details of the face to the mark on the pattern, fill it with padding polyester or cotton wool and sew it to the main hat. After that we sew together 2 parts and sew the ears to the "muzzle". We fill soft material nose, sew to the front of the cap. Sew the eyes last.

Advice! If there is no way to buy faux fur, replace it with an old sweater. suitable color... In this case, you will need to process the edges of parts made from it.

Whatever materials you choose, the vest can be sewn using a standard pattern, such as, for example, shown in Scheme 2. There are three sizes of vest available here. They should be suitable for most children, for whom such a suit will be relevant by age.

A child for whom a suit is being sewn needs to measure the circumference of the chest, and, based on this, choose one of the pattern options offered on the diagram. If necessary, add or subtract 1–2 cm from the width of the parts.

Material consumption will be the desired length of the item and another 5 cm. These models are not provided with a fastener. In case you want to add buttons or a zipper, add another 1.5 cm on the shelves on the side of the zipper.

To cut out the parts, add 1.2 cm to the seams in those places where the back and shelves will be sewn together. Recall that the back is a piece with a fold made of faux fur, the shelves are 2 pieces without folds made of velor or other velvety material.

Reference! A part with a fold is an element of a product in which a pattern is applied to a fold of fabric in such a way that a part is obtained from symmetrical parts.

For example, the pattern of the back is applied with the straight side to the fold of the fabric, secured to it with pins with an eyelet. The contours of the back are transferred to the fabric using chalk or a bar of soap. Then the pattern is removed, and the part is cut and unfold. A part without a fold assumes all the same operations, only without folding the fabric. That is, the pattern of the shelf is twice transferred to the fabric without a fold.

It is fairly easy to replicate the idea of a cape costume, which of course can be used for boys and girls with equal success. But nevertheless, a costume in the form of a cape for little princesses will be more interesting in the sense that such a thing can be easily put on any beautiful dress.

As they say, everything new is well forgotten old. Here we will offer a design option for a children's carnival costume, which was taken from a book of the late twentieth century. In reproduction, such a product is quite light. To sew the cape you will need:

Any fabric of a suitable color (bike, velor, fleece, cloth).
Material for needles. The authors suggest craftswomen to use plastic bags, but you can also take just a fabric that is different in texture from the main canvas. Also, these needles can be filled with filler, then they will stick out and further enhance the resemblance to hedgehog thorns.

How to sew a hedgehog fur coat for fancy dress(MK)

We need:

- fleece;

- zigzag scissors;

- regular scissors;

- a needle;

- ruler;

- sewing machine.

For the vest we bought a double-sided fleece, one-sided is most often thin and highly elastic, the needles can be rolled up into a tube. We settled on fleece, in which children can dance for a year or more. And you can choose any, it all depends on how long you want to use this vest.

I cut the needles with special zigzag scissors. First, I cut strips 5 cm wide, then cut these strips into diamonds.

When the needles are ready, we start sewing the vest. You take any pattern that you like, you can find it in any magazine or make it yourself. We (me, the trainer and the clients) decided to sew the needles only along the back. Everyone can have their own sewing technology, I did it as it seemed to me that would be more beautiful. First, we grind the shoulder seams and process the armholes. You do it on any typewriter and any line you like. And without a typewriter, the fleece can be perfectly hemmed with your hands from the inside out blind seam and you don't even have to hem the edges at all, fleece is such a material that you don't have to hem.

Now the very essence of my master class, we sew on needles. Our task is to draw with chalk or soap a line along which we will lay out the needles.

When the needles are laid out, pin them with pins or baste them with a needle and thread, as it is more convenient for you, and sew this row on a typewriter.

It is better to sew in a zigzag, so that the seam has a small opportunity to stretch, then it will be more convenient for the child in this vest (who does not have a typewriter, you can sew it by hand). Then draw a second line and lay out the needles again, but in a checkerboard pattern relative to the first row, fasten them to the typewriter.

Lines can be drawn all at once, but I had chalk, which was quickly erased from this material, so I drew 1-3 lines, no more. The distance between the lines is about 2 cm. The needles should be laid out with a slight overlap on each other along the machine. So it is easier to sew and the density of the needles is good.

In the process of sewing, do not forget to measure the distance to the bottom of the vest on both sides, it must be the same, otherwise the misalignment of the needles on the back will be very visible.

I did not sew the needles until the very end of the 2nd row, because then it will not be convenient to edge the bottom of the product.

Sewing the side seams, edging the bottom of the product and the neckline. When the edging is completely ready, sew the remaining 2 rows of needles from the bottom and one row from the top.

And now, in a nutshell, about the costume completely. Supplex overalls with shorts, a vest with a fur coat and a fleece hat with needles on top. It was possible to sew a vest with a hood, but children are not comfortable with a hood for dancing, coups, etc. There is no photo, because the rest is in progress.
